Withybush Coachworks History

Who are Withybush Coachworks Ltd?.

Founded in 1963 by Geoff Bonner, the business has grown from its origins in a converted WW2 officers squash court into a state-of-the-art repair centre in a purpose built modern building. In 1974 Geoff was joined by his son-in-law Steve Haworth and in 1978 Geoff retired to be replaced by Steve’s brother David Haworth. Dave and Steve ran the business very successfully until 1988 when the business was split between the welding side and the bodywork side of the business.

Dave was then joined by his son Adrian on the bodywork side of the business and this carried on successfully until 1997. Being forced to move premises due to a compulsory purchase order and the retirement of David Haworth, Withybush Coachworks moved to its present home in the early months of 1999.

On moving into the new premises, the business became a limited company and Adrian was joined by Steve Warlow, a man with huge talent and experience who had operated within Pembrokeshire’s motor trade for many years. Within a couple of years the pair were joined by Martyn Rudd and Josh Horrell and other staff over the years who have all added considerably to the history and reputation of the business.

The current incarnation of Withybush Coachworks Ltd finds Adrian, Steve and Josh joined by Steve Jones as head painter, Tom Morgan doing panel-beating and spraying and Adrian’s wife Joi Haworth doing accounts.

After 51 years in business Withybush Coachworks intends to be looking after the people of Pembrokeshire for many many years to come.
